I am a freelance writer in Murphysboro, IL. In fiction, I love to write modern fiction with a fantasy twist. Most of my freelance work these days consists of ghostwriting. I’ve worked in numerous genres, including westerns, romance, women’s fiction, cozy mysteries, and memoirs.
When I was five years old, I wrote a story about the Easter Bunny painting eggs. I remember very clearly that I wrote it on one of those mini legal pads, and it was only about half a page long. My mom (who just so happens to be a writer herself) read it and told me how wonderful it was. It was that very moment, in a suburban basement in Aurora, Colorado, that I decided to be a writer.

Nice to meet you, too! It’s refreshing to find someone else that writes across genres! I’m just not content to stay in one spot I guess!
Me either! I have too many moods to be locked down to a single genre. My friends have called me a ‘mad-creative-genius’…I just think I’m a little ADHD LOL
It’s nice to be a little mad. 😉

Hi Ashley, Thank you for following my blog..went through your posts and those are very informative. Now I am following you as well. Happy Writing. Anu
I like this. For me, it was always about creating a world with a little more humor and levity than this one. An element of fantasy makes all the difference.
PS, when I was a kid (I’m talking four or five) I swore I saw the Easter Bunny. I remember that he had a Neapolitan Ice Cream colored tail…I wonder if he paints his eggs in the same fashion.
Oh, that’s so neat! I love the detail about his tail! I remember seeing Santa, and that same night I heard reindeer on the roof. It was absolutely magical!
You were so fortunate to have that support.
Very true! My mom and I still talk about writing all the time!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It is amazing that you wrote a story at the age of 5. Did you begin to read short picture books at the age of 3?
What a lovely memory about how you started your journey. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for following my blog. I hope you enjoy your visits.
