Thursday Things: What Are Your Favorite Smells?

Welcome to Thursday Things, where you might find a rant, a rave, a question, or just about anything else! Let’s scrounge around in the junk drawer of my brain and see what we can find!

As a writer, I’m often trying to convey every aspect of a scene. This absolutely includes smell! The way a place smells can make a huge impact on how we feel about it. Books are probably my favorite smell, both new and old. I also love the smell of coffee, so I guess this just makes me a basic writer nerd. 🙂

What are your favorite smells?

Tarot Tuesday! Card of the Week from The Wisdom of Avalon Oracle Cards

Sometimes we can look to the magic of the past to discover what the present and future hold for us, which is what I feel The Wisdom of Avalon Oracle cards can do for us. Let’s find out what the cards hold this week.

If you’re interested in a reading of your own, please see the bottom of this post.

The butterfly speaks to us about beauty and transformation. We can see beauty in all sorts of places if we only know how to look for it. The butterfly isn’t always beautiful, but she’s constantly working toward the changes that will make her beautiful. Changes are coming, and even if they don’t always feel good in the moment, know that you’re working toward something bigger and more beautiful than you can imagine.

What did this card mean for you? What messages are you looking for from the cards? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Interested in a reading of your own?

You’ll receive a photo of the actual cards drawn and a thorough explanation of their meaning. The readings are done through email, so please ensure a valid email address is included with your payment! This is for a generalized reading with a deck that calls to me. If you have a specific question or needs, please feel free to email me at ashley@ashleyomelia.com and we can get it arranged. Thank you!

Thursday Things: Tech Rage

Welcome to Thursday Things, where you might find a rant, a rave, a question, or just about anything else! Let’s scrounge around in the junk drawer of my brain and see what we can find!

Do you ever get tech rage? You know, when a piece of electronic equipment that’s supposed to make your life so much easier simply refuses to work and makes you want to smash it Office Space-style?

I tend to think of myself as a pretty calm person, but my printer did this to me the other morning. I just needed to print out ONE document that only required ONE piece of paper. But I guess the printer had decided it was angry with my computer, because after twenty trips back and forth it still just wouldn’t do it. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled (probably should’ve opted for that earlier) and got my one tiny document printed.

Didn’t help that I got about twenty spam phone calls in the meantime. Gotta love technology.

Tarot Tuesday! Card of the Week from The Dragon Oracle

It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time to check the cards and see what we need to know for the rest of the week.

This week’s pull is from The Dragon Oracle deck by Diana Cooper. I love dragons, so this is one of my favorite oracle decks!

If you’re interested in a reading of your own, please see the bottom of this post.

Source is the very center of the universe, a place of ultimate stillness, light, and energy. Source Dragon brings all of that to you on your journey. Let it bring you the peace and love that you’ve been seeking. This card could also represent a culmination of a journey, spiritual or otherwise.

What does this card mean for you? Do you prefer tarot or oracles decks? Let me know in the comments!

Thursday Things: What Are You Watching?

Welcome to Thursday Things, where you might find a rant, a rave, a question, or just about anything else! Let’s scrounge around in the junk drawer of my brain and see what we can find!

Today I’d just like to know what you’re watching on TV! We have more streaming services than I’d care to admit, so throw a few good ideas at me! My current favorites are the new Star Trek series (both Discovery and Picard), Ghosts, and Call Me Kat. I like a lot of older sitcoms, too. But wait, this isn’t about me. It’s about YOU! What are you watching?

Tarot Tuesday! Card of the Week from The Good Tarot

It’s time once again for Tarot Tuesday to see what the rest of the week holds for us!

This week’s pull is from The Good Tarot by Colette Baron-Reid. These cards are just gorgeous and have so much energy when I’m working with them!

If you’re interested in a reading of your own, please see the bottom of this post.

The Emperor represents authority and confidence. This is a time for you to follow the rules and keep your affairs in order. It could be a good time to deal with the government, banks, or schools. This card could also represent an authority figure in your life. Lean on them, trust them, and know that they will help take care of you.

What does this card mean for you? Are there any card decks you’d like to see featured here? Let me know in the comments!
