Pen Review: Baoer 801 Slim

This pen came in the June 2018 iPen subscription box and I really only have one thing to say:  I’m in love!

Baoer 801 Slim

This pen is lightweight but is balanced beautifully.  Everything on it exudes quality, from the way the lid attaches to the top to the way it comes apart.  The nib is technically a medium, but it’s very much a fine (my favorite).  It writes so smoothly and easily that I have occasionally forgotten I’m not writing with a ballpoint.  As soon as I got this pen, I went through three converters full of ink.

You want to hear the kicker?  This pen is less than $7!  It feels and writes like it’s much more expensive.  It’s definitely one of my favorites.  I recommend the Baoer to anyone who likes writing with a nice fountain pen but doesn’t want to invest a lot of money.

  1. Very nice review. So nice I just bought one along with 3 others. I have about 200 pens maybe more and try to use them all, but these I will use more often. The Space Pen is for my husband. I had to force myself off the site! 🤣 Thanks for the great review and inspiration.
I am looking forward to writing with the Baoer 801. ( loving Wanderer2. Slowly reading the end. W3?)

    • I don’t have that many pens yet, but I’m slowly working my way up there! Do you have a nice way of keeping them? So glad you’re enjoying the 2nd installment! A third is definitely in the works. In fact, I’ve got it all plotted out. I just have to find the time to write it!

  2. Unfortunately, no, not really. They are rubber banded together in different boxes. My husband has said he is going to make me a display/storage cabinet for them.
I love novelty and funny pens, too.
I love the characters you’ve created. Believable, complicated and surprising. I’ll give you a great review on Amazon.

If you other followers or readers haven’t read her books, maybe you should!

The Wanderer’s Guide to Dragonkeeping is Book 1. If you enjoy dragons, evil wizards, magic, good vs evil and so much more, you will like this book.

I hope it’s okay to say that? I just really like your books. 🙂
